The Imagine School at Town Center chapter of the National
Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a student led organization. It is also a nationally recognized program
that challenges and expects students to meet the five established criteria: scholarship,
leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
The purpose of NJHS is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage citizenship.
Who is eligible for NJHS
At ISTC, in accordance with national standards set by NJHS; students will first quality with a demonstration of success in the area of scholarship. That means students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 on a 4 point scale will receive an invitation to join after 2 semesters at our school. Students who wish to join will complete an application and write an essay to give examples of their accomplishments in the remaining areas of leadership, service, citizenship, and character. An advisory board will then evaluate the applicants and will issue invitations. Therefore just because a student qualifies based on their cumulative GPA (scholarship), they will not automatically be inducted into the NJHS.
